Club 13: Tribute to Bisq. Local blues band Bisq headlines (a tribute to itself!) along with solid local grunge rockers, High Grade Soy, and No Doubt clones (in a good way), Caffeine. RMB30. 9pm.
Mao Livehouse: Recycle. If China had a Green Day, it might be these three lads from Beijing. They infuse the jumped-up punk snare line with just enough emo to make you nostalgic for the days when nothing really mattered except having fun. 8:15pm.
Souk: Rhythm & Blues. An evening of live Rhythm & Blues with Checo, Tato and the gang. Last Friday was a great success with lots of improv and our Liberian diva Marrion doing another inspiring set. Free. 10pm.
Stone Boat Bar: Enfants Terribles. Highly danceable electro jazz from a long-standing laowai outfit featuring Jakub Groos on piano, the flamboyant David Mitchell on guitar and percussion, Pierre Billiard on bass and Liu Xiaoguang on sax. Free. 9:30pm.
Forbidden City Concert Hall: Opening Ceremony of 2007 Summer Series Music Concerts. Join the French Bretagne Youth Symphony Orchestra for an evening of classics, including pieces from famous and well-loved composers such as Grieg, Tchaikovsky and Williams. RMB20-100. 7:30pm.
